Venice, Italy

Port of Disembarkation, Sep. 5 & 6, 2015

Cruising into Venice was a glorious and unparalleled experience.

St. Mark Square
Mouth of Grand Canal – Venice’s main street
Bridge near Piazza Roma – Venice’s road connection Mainland
Taking a public waterbus, Vaporetto, down the Grand Canal is certainly a highlight.
Rialto Bridge, most famous of the 400+ Venice bridges
Rialto Bridge, the most famous of 400 Venice bridges
Rialto Bridge, the most famous of the 400 or so Venice bridges
St. Mark Square, briefly cleared of crowd due to a sudden downpour

St. Mark Basilica, first completed in 800 AD

Crowds returned to the Square; Dodge Palace on the background – seat of Venetian Government, and the most powerful place in Europe for 400 years.

To complete the Venetian experience:

The Bridge of Sigh connecting Dodge Palace (left) and the prison (right).

We had a nice dinner on the Grand Canal
